He has completed functional capacity evaluations over the past fourteen years at the worksite, in the home and in the clinical setting. Mr. Duffield has managed 2 work hardening programs including the first work hardening program in West Virginia and the first CARF accreditied program in Southeast Ohio.

My pledge to my patient and the employer: To create a personal relationship that permits the patient to view me as their facilitator, coach and motivator. I will be the patient’s liaison to the healthcare world and a person whom they can trust to do the right thing.

Each employer customer will be offered the most cost effective, safe and expeditious return to work effort for their injured worker. Communication is our hallmark for all individuals involved; from the front line supervisor to the patient and their family.

Functional progress is expected weekly if not daily. Lack of progress despite our best efforts, signals the need for patient staffing and early termination of the program. We do not and will not continue programs in the absence of regular progress.

I view each patient as an occupational athlete with their livelihood and future reliant on the healthcare industry to help them.

Through my experience, I have found patients very motivated by this approach….taking personal ownership and accountability for their physical restoration
