ACTIVE PHYSICAL/OCCUPATIONAL SERVICES:

Active Physical/Occupational Therapy is the basic active physical rehabilitation program for patients with subacute or chronic musculoskeletal problems. Primary treatment focus is restoration of function for return to work and normal activities. Pain relief is a secondary consideration. The Active Physical/Occupational Therapy Program emphasizes a multidisciplinary team approach which incorporates a physical therapist, occupational therapist, exercise physiologist and/or athletic trainer who designs a program to address the specific needs of the patient.

AUGMENTED SOFT TISSUE MOBILIZATION: (ASTM)

ASTM is an advanced form of soft tissue mobilization that enables clinicians to efficiently break down scar tissue. ASTM has been proven to be a highly effective treatment for chronic tendinitis/tendinosis. ASTM is performed with ergonomically designed instruments to allow rapid localization and effective treatment of areas exhibiting soft tissue fibrosis or chronic inflammation. Flexibility, strengthening and muscle reeducation are employed to provide patients with optimal results with a minimum number of treatment sessions.

ACUTE PHYSICAL & OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY SERVICES:

Workers Choice Health Services Early Intervention Program is a treatment program for patients with acute (0-4 weeks) soft tissue musculoskeletal injuries. The program is designed to prevent development of chronic pain and disability by providing early and consistent pain relief, educating the patient about his/her condition and encouraging a gradual return to pre-injury activities, as appropriate. Pain relief and return to full function are primary considerations.

INJURY PREVENTION PROGRAMS:

We specialize in programs addressing all occupational cumulative trauma disorders, including back injury. Our on-site education programs are not limited to the standard "back school" information that is widely available in video format. Rather, they address the concerns and risk factors specific to the customer, and to the specific injury problems the customer is attempting to prevent. Concepts and principles are presented as they apply to specific job tasks. A comprehensive approach is given to prevention, and may include information related to home activities/lifestyle, nutrition, and relaxation; as well as posture and body mechanics.
