TWS TRANSITIONAL WORK SERVICES:
Designed to reduce/eliminate lost time, this program involves on-site evaluation and treatment of the injured worker by a therapist, combined with a highly structured modified duty program. Our TWS program is a systematic and interdisciplinary return-to-work program that utilizes real work activities with carefully designed modified duty, in order to expeditiously transition the employee back to his/her original job. TWS permits the employee to remain active at the worksite while the therapist and TWS Team assists with full functional restoration. This is an early intervention program that requires the cooperative efforts of the employer, physician, referral sources, service provider and other interested parties.
It is a very well established fact, which cuts across all industry classifications...the longer an injured employee is off work, the less likely they are to return to work. In 2002 an industrial indemnity study concluded that if an injured worker is off work for six months or more then his/her chances of returning to any job are only 50%.
In 2003 Workers Choice Health Services produced return to work rates of approximately 45% above the national data statistics by returning 90.5% of our Transitional Work Services patients to work. We firmly believe that Transitional Work Program, when combined with early intervention, give injured employees their best opportunities to return to work.
TRANSITIONAL WORKGRANT$:
Workers Choice Health Services has thirteen physical and occupational therapists certified by the Bureau of Workers Compensation to develop, implement, and service Transitional WorkGrant$ programs for employers. The grant process begins with a comprehensive Corporate Analysis, developed by our therapists, to capture the essence of the employer's industry, employees, corporate culture, etc. From there the Labor Committee is established according to the employer's needs to monitor the employees' transitional programs. Policies and Procedures are then developed which outline program eligibility, goals, roles/responsiblities, etc. An employer's existing policies and procedures can be incorporated into this phase of development if appropriate. Next each job category is defined and a Job Analysis evaluation is completed by one of our therapists for each category. Workers Choice Health Services has created a specialized job analysis to use in the development of a grant program. It was developed by two of our therapists and a nationally certified ergonomist. Finally a process for Program Evaluation is created to complete the program. Workers Choice Health Services staff will assist the employer in the continued evaluation of the effectiveness of the program and will implement any changes or modifications the employer feels appropriate. Workers Choice Health Services will also help the employer write and submit the grant application to the Bureau of Workers Comp.
